Selfie interprets land through the lens of physical space. The physical experience of landscape dictates all aspects of the piece; the dimensions, positioning of the mirror, and the viewer’s response are in correlation to the space it occupies.

The mirror used is scaled proportionately to be the same dimensions of an iPhone photo, conveying the modern interpretation of landscape through a one-way experience with a multidimensional physical space. Selfie brings attention to these experiences with the natural world, and values assigned to experiences in nature, that are in correlation with issues of overcrowding spaces such as national parks and other highly trafficked areas of the landscape. Selfie is an attempt to convey land as an area of opportunity and demonstrates alternative ways to experience the outdoors.
